The kids did a great job with their program today! I hope you all enjoyed it, the kids were so excited to perform for all of you. Only two more weeks of school and we will be on break. It’s very hard to believe that it is almost winter and half way through the year already! Please remember that each student needs a book, $3.00-5.00, for the parties on December 19th. Please try and send the books in so that I can make sure that each student has a book for the party. Thank you, and have a great weekend!
I want to thank you all for all of the items that you sent in for the canned food drive. We did not win the contest, but we were able to donate lots of food to help people this holiday season. I am proud of how well we did. Please remember that our Christmas Program is only a couple of weeks away. The program will be on December 6th, at 2:00. The doors will open at 1:30. We look forward to seeing all of you there.
This week we had Grandparent’s Day. The kids loved having their Grandparents and Special Guests come to school. It was nice to see so many smiling grandparents in our classroom! This week we also worked very hard in Science learning about all of the planets and our solar system. We are also having the school canned food drive. Please remember to send in cans next week! Have a great weekend!
Please remember that this Friday, November 15th is Grandparents Day. The kids are very excited about this! It will be a very fun day for all.
Wow! I cannot believe it is November already! I just wanted to remind you of some upcoming events. This Wednesday, November 6, we will be dismissing at 1:55. November 15th will be Grandparents day. This is a fun day for the children. Please remember all money was due today, November 1st. If you forgot to send in your money please do so on Monday. Have a great weekend!
This week in math we began addition with carrying. This was hard for some of the students. Please review this at home with your child over the weekend. Next week we will have a visit from the GP Fire Department to discuss Fire Safety! Please keep reading with your child each night, so that we can increase our fluency. Thank you so much for all of your help!
Please remember that tomorrow is Pajama Day. Please send your child in some comfortable pajamas!
I would like to remind you that next Wednesday, October 16th, will be school picture day. Please be sure to send in your money that day. I also want to thank you for the nice birthday gift that the class and PTO gave me. I really appreciate you thinking of me. Have a great four day weekend!
The Book-It program will begin on October 1st. To participate in Book-It I ask that your child read for twenty minutes each day, including weekends. I will send home a monthly calendar that you may color daily after you have done the twenty minutes of reading. Your child should bring that calendar back at the end of the month for a coupon for a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut! This is not a mandatory program, but it is very beneficial to each student. If you have any questions please call or e-mail me. Happy Reading!
Please remember that this week is the book fair. Our class will be going to “shop” for books on Monday and Wednesday. Please send money in on one of those days if you would like your child to purchase books. Please keep collecting Box Tops for Education. There is a school wide contest to see which class collects the most. Also, please keep reading each night and working on addition and subtraction facts. Thank you for all that you do!
