The past month has afforded recognition for several GPHS students. The following represents a sample of our honored students prior to the Athletic Awards Night (May 22) and Honors Day (May 25):
The Illinois Principal Association breakfast at Joliet’s Rialto Theater honored seniors Stacey Lorenz and Kole Stadt as students who have truly made a difference at GPHS.
The Kiwanis luncheon in Bradley also recognized Stacey and Kole as well as senior Sydney Volkman for their efforts in leadership and music.
Senior Meagan Pilbeam was recognized through the KACC and awarded the Junior Achievement Award of Chicago as well as the Officer of the Year, Vice-President of Marketing.
Seniors Jessica Frahm and Nick Hearn were recognized as Grant Park High School’s nominations for River Valley Conference Scholar-Athletes.
Senior Katie McNally was named to the Top Ten Female Scholar Athletes of 2011-2012 by the Kankakee Daily Journal.
The GP NHS, headed by Mrs. Debbie O’Day travelled to Navy Pier and constructed 65 Build-a-Bears and delivered them to the St. Mary – Provena Hospital. We could not be prouder of this group, as they continue to represent the Grant Park community in an exemplary manner and follow the “GP Way.”
