The middle school will have a written test over basketball on Wednesday 11/20. We handed out a study guide last week and have been reviewing each day so we hope all students will do very well.
Elementary- We will finish up our flag football unit. A study guide will be handed out to the students for a written test. The written test will be on Monday 10/21 for grades 3 and 4 and 10/22 for 5th grade.
Middle School- We will finish up our flag football unit and any fitness testing make ups. A flag football study guide was handed out on 10/10 for the written test, which will be on Wednesday 10/16. The students will also take a short ETA on Friday 10/18. We will review all questions on the ETA throughout the week.
Elementary classes- Grades 3-5 will continue our flag football/ultimate football unit with team play. The first grade class will begin a soccer unit, which will help our foot/eye coordination. We will practice the proper technique to dribbling a soccer ball.
Middle School- We will finish up with our fitness testing and continue with our flag football unit.
Elementary classes- We will continue to work on our pass patterns for our flag football unit. The patterns include the in, out, hook, slant, and fly. Practicing these patterns works on our throwing and catching skills and helps us with game strategy once we begin to play flag football games.
Middle School- The middle school classes will continue to play flag football games on M, T, and Th. The students are placed in teams and will play each team on the schedule at least two times. We will also begin our physical fitness testing unit. This will take place on Wednesday’s and Friday’s. To help prepare the student’s for the mile run we will be doing timed runs to work on pacing and endurance during our regular warm up. We will increase time by at least :30 each day until we are ready to run the mile.
Elementary School- We will finish up our physical fitness testing and begin our ultimate/flag football unit by going over several different pass patterns. We will also discuss the proper way to hold and throw a football.
Middle School- We will finish our baseball/softball unit with a written test on Friday, Sept. 20th. A study guide will be provided. We will also continue with our flag football unit with game play.
I am excited to get the year going and get back into the routine of physical education class. It is my goal that I am able to provide your child with a fun, yet productive physical education experience. We will be covering many different aspects of physical activity throughout the school year. Please encourage your child to remain physically active outside of school. Some activities at home include riding bikes, running/walking, jump roping, sit-ups, and push-ups among others.
Elementary classes- We will continue with our softball unit by playing round robin games.
Middle School classes- We will begin a track and field unit consisting of the 100 yd. dash, standing long jump, frisbee throw (discuss), softball throw (shot put) and if time permits before the end of the year work on some relays.
Elementary classes- When inside we will continue our volley tennis unit. When we are able to get outside we will begin a softball/baseball unit by working on many different skills through stations.
Middle School classes- When inside we will continue our pickle ball unit. When we are able to get outside we will begin a track unit covering sprints, long jump, and relays.
Elementary PE- Eclipse Ball Written Test on Monday for 3rd and 4th grade, and on Tuesday for 5th grade. The rest of the week we will vote on some of the student’s favorite activities and play one for the day.
Middle School PE- We will continue our Badminton unit with doubles game play all week.

Elementary PE- We will continue with our Eclipse Ball unit. The students will continue to work on their racket skills during game play.
Middle School PE- On Tuesday the students will play volley tennis and Wednesday take a volley tennis written test. On Thursday and Friday we will begin a badminton/pickle ball unit. We will go over the rules to each game and practice skills for each one according to the unit we are covering for that day.
